This will be my second sojourn to the North East, and Yes.. my wife, Anitha joins me this time as well!
And on my radar is to explore the beautiful trails of North Sikkim, around the Gurudongmar Lake, The Yumthang Valley, Zero Point before heading off into Nepal towards Kathmandu, Pokhara and Tatogani, via the Old Silk Route, into the Mustang Valley!
While the preparations on the itinerary have been in place over the last many weeks, we definitely cannot play around with nature. As I write this post, I am continuously updated of the condition of the deteriorated roads due to rains and landslides and hence it will be a daunting ride into this region…
The plan is to start from Bangalore early morning of 6th Oct and head East towards Vijayawada, Bhubhaneshwar, bypass Kolkata before reaching Siliguri to get some basic attention for #Armstrong before reaching Gangtok.
That will be in 4 days!
Then the plan is to explore the North Sikkim trails for 4 days before heading into Nepal!
I am known for detours, so please do expect some surprise updates 🙂
Possibly for the first time, few of my very close rider friends will be joining me on this long ride …
Ruhin Ashraf will be riding a Mahindra Mojo and will start from Bangalore.
Fairly newly married couple, Sharath Madhav and his wife Anushree will drive in their 4 x4 Mahindra Thar from Madurai and meet us at Vijayawada (Thanks to the prevailing water dispute tensions between Tamilnadu and Karnataka and his perks of driving a TN registered vehicle)
Mudit Asthana, on his Triumph Tiger and Tanuj Shivhare, after much dilly dallying to choose a bike from his vast collection will ride in the Ducati Diavel and connect with us closer to Kolkata.
We join up with Paul Gurung from Gangtok and start our first leg of exploration!
Watch this page for continuous update as I try and give you as much of a visual representation of one of the most beautiful region in India!
